PARABNORMAL NEWS — All eyes are on 3I/ATLAS. The interstellar object, which is largely said to be a comet, makes its closest approach to Earth on Friday in a rare visit from beyond our solar system.
The object was discovered in July by NASA-funded ATLAS telescopes in Chile and is only the third confirmed interstellar visitor ever observed.
3I/ATLAS will remain a safe distance from Earth; about 168 million miles away and experts say it poses no threat to life on any planet.
It will eventually continue back into interstellar space, never to return. So now is the best chance that astronomers have to observe and study 3I/ATLAS.
The closest approach is scheduled to happen around 1:00 am Eastern time on Friday.
There will be several live streams tracking its approach including this one from the Virtual Telescope Project.
