PARABNORMAL NEWS — NASA on Wednesday unveiled the closest images to date of interstellar object 3I/ATLAS.

Twelve NASA instruments have captured and processed images of the object during recent missions and more are poised to gather additional imagery as it continues its journey through the solar system.

NASA addressed rumors about the origin of 3I/ATLAS during the unveiling of the images.

“This object is a comet. It looks and behaves like a comet, and all evidence points to it being a comet, but this one came from outside the solar system, which makes it fascinating, exciting and scientifically, very important,” said NASA Associate Administrator Amit Kshatriya.

The third known interstellar object was discovered on July 1, 2025 by ATLAS, the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System telescope in Chile and has since been viewed by other telescopes and spacecraft.

3I/ATLAS completed a trip behind the Sun in October and is preparing to pass within 170 million miles of Earth around December 19th before traveling past the orbit of Jupiter in the spring of 2026.
