PARABNORMAL NEWS — A metallic-looking space rock crashed into a home in Hopewell Township, New Jersey on Monday.

“It appears whatever came from the sky fell through the roof,” Suzy Kop tells CBS Philadelphia.

Due to the speed it had to be traveling, the apparent meteorite dented a bedroom floor, ricocheted up to the ceiling and punctured another hole.

Thankfully, nobody was home at the time to be injured.

“I did touch the thing because I just thought it was a random rock, I don’t know, and it was warm,” said Kop, whose father owns the home.

The rock measuring 4″ by 6″ is possibly from the Eta Aquariids meteor shower, although the origins of the object are not yet known.

This kind of thing is rare.

“For it to actually strike a house, for people to be able to pick up, that’s really unusual. It has happened very few times in history,” commented Derrick Pitts, Chief Astronomer and Director of the Fels Planetarium at The Franklin Institute.

He says it could be from the beginning of the solar system some four to five billion years ago.

Police say they’re working to identify the object.
