Kirkpatrick will step down in December, less than a year and a half after being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Releases\/Release\/Article\/3100053\/dod-announces-the-establishment-of-the-all-domain-anomaly-resolution-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">named as director<\/a> of the government&#8217;s UAP office.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dr. Kirkpatrick has served the American people with honesty and integrity, tackling an incredibly difficult mission to explain the unknown,&#8221; said Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m ready to move on. I have accomplished everything I said I was going to do,\u201d Kirkpatrick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/11\/07\/pentagon-ufo-boss-00125883\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kirkpatrick testified at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armed-services.senate.gov\/hearings\/to-receive-testimony-on-the-mission-activities-oversight-and-budget-of-the-all-domain-anomaly-resolution-office\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Congressional hearing<\/a> this past April.<\/p>\n<p>He also spoke at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/bQo08JRY0iM?si=oDANrRihojSKlqCL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">meeting<\/a> of the NASA Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Independent Study Team in May.<\/p>\n<p>A report in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-12703835\/Pentagon-UFO-chief-AARO-Kirkpatrick-REPLACED-whistleblowers-accuse-lying-public-ignoring-witnesses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a> accuses Kirkpatrick of lying to the public, making false statements about whistleblowers and ignoring their sightings.<\/p>\n<p>He has sparred publicly with former intelligence officer turned whistleblower David Grusch and activists.
