October's astronomical highlights

PARABNORMAL NEWS — October brings several notable planetary sights to the night sky, including a rare event involving Jupiter.

Saturn reaches opposition on October 4th, making it visible throughout most of the night and especially good for telescope viewing.

Mars will become visible low in the east-northeast early on the morning of the 5th.

Then on the 6th, the Moon will pass directly in front of Jupiter, briefly hiding the planet from view across parts of the eastern and central U.S.

Mars will meet the Beehive star cluster on October 11th, creating a striking sight through binoculars.

And Venus, after dominating the evening sky for months, will disappear from view before returning as a morning star in November.
