(PARABNORMAL NEWS) — Tracking threats in orbit is the focus of a new unit within the United States Space Force.
Space Delta 18 will be tasked with identifying threats to our assets to provide critical intelligence on threat systems, foreign intentions and activities in the space domain; namely those that can damage satellites and other assets or anti-satellite weapons.
The unit is critical to the USSF’s operations.
“Our capacity to understand what is happening in the space domain is crucial to our ability to operate in space. In the years ahead, the environment will only become more contested,” said U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines.
Space Delta 18 will operate from the National Space Intelligence Center based out of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio and will eventually be staffed by about 350 civilian and military personnel.
